If you're an electricity consumer - and I'm guessing you are - then you're likely to be able to get hold of an electricity monitor - I don't know if all suppliers do them, so if you're desperate to get one you would maybe need to change supplier... anyway, the smart monitor is here and it chnages the game from the consumer point of view because you get to see how much the juice is costing when you (for instance) switch on the washing machine or your new LCD television.
What this is likely to mean for consumers is twofold - first, we can now see what we're spending and take steps to cut down and save cash; second- when we're replacing an item such as a tumble dryer, we're going to be far more likely to choose one that advertises itself as energy efficient.
Another strong possibility for the near future is that gas electricity suppliers could see more use of off-peak electricity as people seek to save some money.
The future has just begun.
The electric comparison would be very helpful to check on the prices that are offered by the other agencies. The online site would have the electric rates comparison chart available from which you could check the rates.
